


The reason the first installation will fail is Vista's driver security system. My audio works perfectly as does everything else. Point to the directory where you have the unzipped driver files and it should install just fine. Immediately after, go to the device manager and click on update driver. Go to the Toshiba support site, look for the XP drivers (Conexant Audio). I'm not sure what to do here.I have the Toshiba P105-S6024 which is almost the same machine. I've thought about picking up a new top panel (the one i replaced the ribbons for), but the speakers still work. So I'd say something isn't sitting or plugged in right inside, but i've torn it apart and put it back together multiple times hoping to find a loose cable. The jack in the front doesn't even produce sound through the headphones. The laptop starts up fine, no issues there. I've installed the audio drivers though! And nothing still!) Things i've tried to remedy the situation When you tap the blue touch-sensitive LEDs on the power/speaker panel, the speakers make an audible "Pip" sound, so I know the audio board isn't fried and the speakers are still working.
